The retired drama queen…

Last year I spent many
evenings breaking fast in my apartment at Vista Angkasa with my housemates and
I longed to be at home in Penang with my family.
But yesterday was special, I was 500km away from Penang but still in a place so rightfully home.Yesterday was the first day of Ramadhan in the year of 1427H and
the first Ramadhan in my life with me being a wife. 

I was excited and looking forward to bukak puasa yesterday, it was the first bukak puasa meal id be preparing for my husband in my
whole life. Since it was a significant breaking of fast meal in my life, I guess I would jot it in my blog.

I wanted to cook a few different dishes that Azman liked but
at 2pm we went to Matta fair and arrived
home 2 hours before Maghrib. There was too little time considering that there was also some grocery shopping needed to be done.

Anyhow
I managed to make my Freestyler Fried Mihun and Spicy Chicken Wings as main
dishes,

Dates and Mihun Goreng with lotsa chicken, beef and vege the way I like it..

Spicy Chicken Wings,
marinated with Lea & Perrins and dusted with chilli powder mix with
chemical X and roasted till golden brown…                               

of course the opening delicacy was dates and for dessert I made Bubur
Caca with Purple Sweet Potato.For drinks we had Laichee juice, yummy!! The Bubur was his
personal request ( I guess he was missing his mom’s cooking, hehe! )and the first that
I’ve ever cooked in my entire 24 young years of age so I guess it was a pretty
major personal cooking success of mine. We also had some juicy sweet watermalon…

My mom was always telling us that preparing a meal for those who has been fasting in Ramadhan is a great virtue and I think if my mom happens to read this entry she would be proud.I have always been so hampeh in helping her in the kitchen… Gosh,I miss my mom.isk..
