It was a typical busy day at the office when my colleague Yani offered
me something to munch. And it’s not just an ordinary something but
something I’ve never tasted before. She gave me the nastiest brain
piercing, tongue numbing, gum tingling, tummy rumbling sour tasting
fruit I have ever tasted in my whole life……..

“ Azman, I want our baby to call me Mak or Mama or Mummy okay?”
“ Sure, she will call me Ayah”
“ Ayah is too oldskool la… I like Papa…”
“ But Papa means poor! Can you imagine for the 40th times the baby calls my name, we’d be poor for sure! Tsk tsk tsk”
As expected, Malaysia have lost to China in Asia Cup Group stage.
However, to be humiliated 1-5 in Malaysia home soil is a total disgrace.
To make it even worse, Malaysian players seem to enjoy the result and
didn’t feel any embarrassment whatsoever. Just after the match, they
were clapping their hands and chatting to each others just like nothing
had happen……………
Our friend Bani is a pain in the ass. One fine day in late May 2007 he
launched a mouth watering story of his dining experience in a sea side
restaurant in Bagan Lalang, Sepang, Selangor. Bani, all knowingly that
the Big Fat Ferocious Eating Monster will drool and dream of seafood
that night, had purposely described the varieties of fish, crabs, clams
and prawns that were available there at very cheap price.
Bagan Lalang is a place unknown to us. So I persuade Bani to take us
there. He said okay, let us all go at the end of the following month!!
So late! A food-crazed expecting mother cant wait that long! But Bani
gave 1001 reason why we had to wait until end of June. Actually it was
only one reason “I am Bani! And I am mean!” only he repeated it 1001
times………..
I have never felt so hungry in my whole life the way I have been
feeling hungry for the past couple of months. In every breath that I
take, I every step that I make, in every gossip I pass around, in every
Google search I type; I think food.
I try hard to understand my new body, the one that acts so amazingly mysterious and unpredictable………….
